About us and our horses:
Started in 2008 we found that there many people out there that did not have the opportunity or location to experience an authentic western trail ride. Being lovers of horses we were faced with the decision to remove a couple of our horses from our property because we could not spend the amount of time working with each horse that we felt was necessary and fair to the horse. Facing this decision, we decided to open up our home to those who loved horses and longed to be able to share in the true riding experience of western trail riding. Our property borders 35 square miles of experienced trail riding terrain. We also have 2 acres of maintained and fenced-in trails on our property for children and beginner riders, along with a sixty foot (60') round pen allowing you to spend a safe and bonding time with the horse. We have a number of well trained and trail ready horses ranging from the experienced and feisty trail horse for the experienced rider looking for a real western ride to the trail broke and response educated trail horse that a child with no experience could be free riding within hours. We have over 35 years of experienced western horse riding where safety and enjoyment is the first priority. Throughout your day ride we maintain regular contact with a designated person at the property via cell phone call in points. There are also plenty of places along the trail to dismount and rest if needed.
What the "other" places will not tell you about the horse riding experience:
Both experienced and novice riders have all heard the terms dead broke and bomb proof when referring to horses. These are horses that are supposed to be so trained that no matter what they experience on the trail they will never spook, side-jump, startle, or scare. The fact is; this is simply not true. Horses are intelligent and emotionally aware animals that respond to life situations very much they way we do. Regardless of training and experience on the trail with the owner and/or rider, they can react to unknown situations the same that we can. Fear, panic and surprise are all natural reactions to unknown situations that a horse may experience. It is because of these natural reactions that can occur in a horse that we spend specific time working with you and the horse you choose to ride developing a sense of trust and balance between rider and horse before you we ever hit the trails. You will begin your ride knowing about your horses personality and with your horse already developing that needed trust and respect in you as the dominant party in the horse & rider relationship. This simple relationship factor will make the entire experience all the better.
Your trail leader and the lead horse:
I have spent a good part of my life with and around horses. Horsemanship
is a way of life where I have learned that there are people who love horses and
there are horse people, I am the latter. Our horses are not just our pets but
part of our family. Each horse that is available to ride is a horse that belongs
to and is regularly ridden by a member of our family. Lena (shown above)
is our new lead horse. 2010 is her first year in this position and she is
taking charge of the trails already. Together we provide a experience where you can
be assured that your experience will be not only enjoyable but safe.
Thank You,
Jamey & Jeniece
